SQM now offers an innovative version of it's popular No Fee Brand Standards Inspections, which focuses on safety and security issues, associated with The Department of Homeland Security's, If You See Something, Say Something initiative.
Of particular interest, would be the fact that these inspections are completed at no cost to the client, other then the expenses (i.e. room charges and taxes). There are no inspection fees or travel expenses associated with this program!
In addition to measuring and monitoring a company's various brand standards, the program is typically used to create a more "heads up attitude" amongst staff. As some clients would say "employees expect, what management inspects".
The program works as follows:
- Each Mystery Shop would involve the inspection / evaluation of approximately five (5) areas or departments of the hotel (i.e. lobby, public areas, phone calls, fire prevention, etc.).
- The client provides SQM with a maximum number of inspections that they would like completed each month.
- The client is welcome to blackout any properties or dates from the inspection program, recognizing that the more restrictions that are in place, will result in fewer inspections being completed.
- With the exception of any project set-up fees, the only costs will be the expenses and taxes incurred during the course of the inspections (i.e. there will be No Mystery Shop inspection fees).
- In the event that a request is made to inspect a property on a specific date, our regular fee structure would apply (i.e. approximately $325.00, but based on project specific).
Since there are no inspection fees, clients can complete as many Mystery Shops as they would like, to monitor brand standards, measure quality and service levels, prepare for corporate audits, and keep staff alert by re-enforcing the desired behaviours.

- Properties receive valuable feedback, which will help to improve the effectiveness of the If You See Something, Say Something initiative.
- The program assists properties in providing a safe and secure environment for both employees and guests.
- There are NO FEES for the inspections / evaluations, which allows clients to significantly reduce their costs, while also reducing their risks.
- SQM is so confident in the value of the program, that clients have the option to cancel inspections / evaluations at any time, with 30 days notice.
- $5.00 from each completed inspection goes back to the charity of your choice.
